  The lake has around 90 pegs and is 3 acres in size.
  the way i like to tackle mescar lake is to have one rod on a bolt rig with a 14mil halibut pellet on the hair, and a bag full of A-Tract Bag Mix they seem to go crazy for that at mescar, i cast out with a halibut on with no bag and had nothing then i put a bag with A-Tract Bag Mix in it and a few halibuts, and i had an almost instant run. Another good choice is sweetcorn, the carp love that aswell at mescar. Most of the matchmen use a pole, and one on a feeder, I think a cage feeder full of a groundbait e.g Green betaine swimstim seems to be good at mescar mixed with hemp and corn and corn for the hookbait is a wise choice or even worm hookbait but you never know you might get a perch on worm
  to be honest i have had perch on everything in there because they get used to all the bait that is put in the carp.
  
  My favourite pegs on mescar is Peg 1, its not because i am lazy and like the car park swim honest! It is because it is surounded by reeds and with a biccy freelined in the reeds you get alot of interest in them! Also i like peg 30 because you have an open surrounding not limited to where you can cast, and i have had quite alot of decent carp from here. If your not going for carp and want smaller fish i.e Roach, Perch go to peg 40, with a bait box full of magotts and a waggler and you will have non-stop interest in them, only problem is you get interest with bleak to! But i have had some really nice roach come out to! Also try a bit of floating crust and you get a few off the top there well up for it! I have had loads off the top with crust at mescar.
  
  
  So, if your looking for an all round coarse lake, whenever there isn't a match on, Mescar is the place to go, with some decent fish you should bag up all day long.

  Lydiate - Straight down southport road past Weld Blundell past the Scotch Piper. Farm shop is on the left turn right at the church, straight down the road and if you turn first left then carry on, you go past a barn and straight on until you come to the lake.
