HERES A FEW VIDEO`S AND PICURES FOR TYING KNOTS TO MAKE HAIR RIGS FOR CARP FISHING.

if your making a carp hair rig with these knots start off with a length of line/braid about 8-16 inches long depending on how long you want the carp rig to end up.
if this is your first attempt at making a carp hair rig use a long piece of line as it will make it easyer to tie 14-18 inches would be good.
you want your finished rig to be between 3-12 inches long.

its also a good knot for a hair and can also be used for making combi linked rigs if you go through the loop two or three times.
1. get your piece of line and double it over so you have a loop.
2. now cross the doubled up line to form another loop and thread the line through the new loop and pull tight.
for a hair try to keep the loop smaller than 18 mil so the knot is hidden inside a boilie.

a verry popular knot for tying your hooks on when using a hair rig and can also work as a line aligner when using a stiff hooklength like flourocarbon.
now that youve made your loop for your hair you just thread your line through the eye of the hook from the back so that the hair sits flat along the shank of the hook.
the length or line beteween the end of the loop to the bend of the hook is up to you and depends on bait size used.
i tend to have mine so the top of the boilie sits behind the bend of the hook.
so if you measure from where the shank is inline with the hook point to the tip of your loop there is 2-4 mil of line longer than the bait so for a 18 mill boilie there would be a gap of around 20 mil.
now that you have adjusted the hair to length you just wrap the free bit of line (the opposite end to loop) around the hook shank moving back towards the hook point the amount of times is up to you but 4-8 is a average.
now thread the same free bit of line throughe the eye of the hook from behind so the tip of line comes out past the hook point.
wet the knot and pull tight.




BLOOD KNOT:

the tucked half blood knot is a great knot for tying your swivels on when using braid but it can strangle mono making it weak.
just thread your line through the eye of the swivel then double the line back on it self.
now twist the swivel while holdling the two strands of line around four to 6 times.
now thread the free end of your line through the first little loop of line above the swivel eye that was formed by twisting this will form a new loop.
now pass the line through the loop that you just formed.
now wet the knot and pull tight with the end of your line that would be attached to your hook.
if your intending to add shrink tubing for a line aligner youl want to do that before tying your swivel on

a easy knot for attaching your swivel but i dont personaly use this one.
fold your line back on itself to double it up now thread the doubled up tip through the eye of a swivel/hook.
now cross the doubled up line to form a loop.
now thread the doubled up tip through that loop.
with the tip of the doubled up line push it over the back of the hook so the hook goes through the loop.
now wet the knot and pull tight.
